ABOUT CAT

Hi, I’m Cat! (she/her, they/them)

I’ve known I wanted to be a therapist since I was ten years old. As a neurodivergent kid who sometimes struggled to connect, I was drawn to psychology as a way to understand people—and myself—more deeply. That curiosity turned into a lifelong passion for helping others build authentic connection and emotional resilience.

Over the past fifteen years, I’ve worked across nearly every setting in mental health: crisis hotlines, hospitals, schools, and community clinics. My experience includes supporting adolescents, families, and adults navigating issues like trauma, domestic violence, addiction, and relationship challenges.

In 2017, I helped launch the San Mateo County Pride Center, the county’s first LGBTQ+ community center, where I created and oversaw the mental health program. In addition to providing therapy services I also trained and mentored pre-licensed therapists, and led countywide workshops on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE). Serving my queer community in the same county where I grew up has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.

Today, I’m in private practice full-time, specializing in gender health, sexuality and LGBTQ+ affirming therapy. I’m also a member of Mind the Gap, UCSF’s Gender Affirmative Care group.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m connecting with others—through music, climbing, or catching a live performance. My two cats, Onion and Pickle, are frequent (and beloved) guests during telehealth sessions.
